Hello!

    Yes… hello.  I wanted to take a moment and speak to all of you, if you don’t mind?  I’ve been meaning to for a little while actually- didn’t mean to put it off.  Terribly sorry about that.

But you see, I’ve noticed recently that there seems to be quite a bit of anxiousness going around.  And stress, yes.  And… probably a smidge of fear. 

It’s occurred to me that it’s the start of term for many of you, isn’t it?  

School can be very stressful and sometimes, even painful.  And it can be difficult to remember just why you’re there in the first place.  So I’d like to remind you if I may, that it’s alright to ask for help, when you need it.  Anytime of course, but when you are studying hard to improve yourself, there isn’t a thing wrong with reaching out.  

I heard a rather fantastic quote recently, from a muggle professor, of all places-

“You all have a little bit of ‘I want to save the world’ in you, that’s why you’re here, in college.  I want you to know that it’s okay if you only save one person, and it’s okay if that person is you.”

You all have the ability to change the world, I’m sure of that.  But do keep in mind that sometimes, that change needs to begin by being gentle with yourselves.  I know you can do it… and I will be here, if you need me.
